Tiffany fans can see more of his work further up the state in St. Augustine. Henry Flagler commissioned Tiffany to fabricate the windows for the lavish dining room in his Ponce de Leon Hotel in St. Augustine, at the time one of the most luxurious hotels in the country. The hotel eventually became Flagler College and the windows, insured for more than 30 million dollars, now illuminate the student’s dining room.
A trip to Winter Park is not complete without a visit to its downtown area and its quaint shops and restaurants. A stop at Rollins College, also in the downtown area, is worthwhile when you are in the area.
Go to Morse Museum’s website, www.morsemuseum.org. It will acquaint you with the offerings and year-round special programs. |
